GenoCAD
Whole Plasmid Construction
Whole Plasmid Construction
GenoCAD offers a streamlined solution for constructing complete plasmids using synthetic DNA fragments and restriction-free cloning technologies.
Our proprietary software analyzes your plasmid sequences to generate an optimized set of DNA fragments and primers. The algorithm is designed to reduce synthesis costs, gracefully handle regions of high sequence complexity, and minimize the number of assembly steps.
You’ll receive clear, step-by-step instructions to assemble the plasmids in your own lab. Alternatively, GenoCAD can manage part or all of the construction process for you—offering flexibility based on your lab’s capabilities and timeline.

Whole Plasmid Construction Planning
GenoCAD provides computational support to help you construct complete plasmids using restriction-free cloning technologies. This service delivers a comprehensive construction plan tailored to your sequence, optimized to reduce synthesis costs, minimize cloning steps, and maximize project success.
Deliverables
You will receive a complete construction package that includes:
- Ordering files ready to submit to vendors for all required building blocks (DNA fragments, primers, etc.)
- A GenBank file visualizing the construction strategy, with annotated fragments and primers using naming conventions consistent with ordering files
- Step-by-step protocols for plasmid assembly, transformation, and sequence verification
- A detailed cost estimate for assembling the plasmid, including prices for synthetic fragments, primers, consumables, and services
Turnaround Time
After placing your order, you’ll receive an email with a secure link to upload your plasmid sequences (GenBank or SnapGene format preferred). The turn around time depends on the plasmid size and project complexity. The target delivery times are:
- <10 kb plasmids: Delivery within 2 business days
- >20 kb plasmids: Up to 10 business days, depending on complexity
Pricing
Pricing is based on the size of each plasmid. Projects involving multiple related plasmids are invoiced per plasmid, but GenoCAD will, when possible, develop a unified construction strategy to reuse common fragments—reducing both cost and turnaround time.
Beyond Construction Planning
This service is designed to empower life scientists to assemble complex plasmids using standard molecular biology techniques. However, GenoCAD also offers a turnkey solution. GenoCAD can order all the building blocks, assemble them in-house, and ship you the completed plasmid. This is ideal for projects that require large quantities of endotoxin-free preparations.
Pricing is quoted based on the complexity of the construction plan.
